Gotu kola, also referred to as the “longevity herb”, is a popular herb used in traditional Chinese, Indonesian and Ayurvedic medicine. “Gotu kola is often said to bring balance to the brain and can support normal mental alertness,” shares Berdat-Aaeryamo. “It’s also an herb used to help with meditation, as it can help you focus.” In a study looking at the effects of gotu kola water extract on mice, the researchers found that both young and old mice showed improvements in cognitive function.
