TCarillon Miami Wellness Resort in Miami is the largest spa and wellness facility on the East Coast, and what makes it particularly unique is its completely touchless spa experience – that is, one that is completely hands-free. The non-contact offers launched in July 2020 immediately aroused interest from people who wanted well-being in their lives but who were not interested in the prospect of physical interaction at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. And in the latest section of What Wellnesshost Ella Dove, Well + Good Director of Creative Development, gave the touchless menu a try.

‘At one time people were interested because [they weren’t] will get a massage, a facial or a body treatment, but they would like wellness in their lives, ”says Tammy Pahel, vice president of spa and wellness operations at Carillon Miami Wellness Resort, about the initial interest in the offerings.

When you book a visit to the Miami spa, you can choose from more than 17 different treatments and also have access to holistic health practices and sessions with sex therapists, among other options.

And even now that light pandemic restrictions are the norm, COVID-19 variants have left many wanting to limit contact with strangers, even in these later stages of the pandemic, giving reason to continue offering such services. When you book a visit to the Miami spa, you can choose from more than 17 different treatments (more on some below), and you also have access to holistic health practices and sessions with sex therapists, among other options. During his visit, Dove tried Carillon’s hands-free recovery circuit.

During that cycle, she underwent a handful of hands-free treatments (could not swallow me). The first was the StimaWell 120MTRS, which combines heat therapy with electrostimulation to relieve back pain. “It feels really good on my lower back,” Dove says. “When it comes to the places where I know I have some things going on, it does not hurt, but it feels a little more intense.”

Next on the non-contact savings journey was lying on a PureWave VEMI bed. “VEMI stands for vibroacoustic, electromagnetic and infrared therapy,” according to a representative of Carillon. “Basically, this takes care of electromagnetic radiation from all electronics,” which sends the body into the rest and digestion phase to promote the best relaxation.

After spending 25 minutes in the VEMI bed, Dove went to the Prism Light Pod, which the Carillon representative says helps people achieve photobiomodulation, also known as the human equivalent of photosynthesis, which, as a reminder, describes when a plant takes light and converts it into energy.

“Your body is going to take red light therapy, convert it into energy for the cells, and work on one of those six options on the board,” the representative says. These options include sports recovery, chronic pain management, arthritis and joint pain, healing of wounds and injuries, skin diseases and anti-aging and weight loss.

While these three treatments may have just done the trick of helping Dove feel more rejuvenated, they are not the only ones that the Carillon staff had in store for her. Tap play on the video above to get an insight into the whole experience (because you honestly have to watch it to believe it).
